Taran Noah Smith, Home Improvement Star, Found Guilty from February Arrest

Taran Smith, who played the youngest of the three boys portrayed in the 90's sitcom Home Improvement, was arrested in early February of this year and charged with possession of marijuana as well as with a DUI.

Police reported that his 1998 Honda Accord was parked crooked in front of a fire hydrant, when they decided to investigate. As police approached the car they reported a strong odor of cannabis and then placed him under arrest.

Smith, who had relatively stayed out of the spotlight after the show's end, was sentenced to 6 month drug diversion program for the marijuana offense as well as a 12 hour program for the DUI conviction. As with all DUI convictions, he was also sentenced to 3 years of informal probation.

Marijuana laws are in constant flux, especially after it’s legalization in Colorado & Washington. Contact a local attorney to know your rights about local drug laws as well as state DUI regulations.
